Our Story

A Tradition Since 1973

"Tripolis Sweets celebrates the rich pastry traditions of Lebanon and the heritage of Tripoli."

Since 1973, the spirit of Lebanese sweets has been at the heart of what we share with our community. Every tray that leaves our display case — from delicate Petit Four to golden baklava — reflects a craft rooted in Tripoli, Lebanon, and carried forward with care.

Today, that same tradition continues in Cordova, Tennessee, where Tripolis Sweets serves Memphis and the surrounding area with the warmth and hospitality Lebanese sweets have always been made to share.

Tripoli, Lebanon

Rooted in Tripoli

Tripoli is renowned throughout the Levant as a capital of Lebanese sweets — a city where recipes for baklava, kunafa, and ma'amoul have been refined for generations. Tripolis Sweets carries that identity in its name, its craft, and every tray prepared in our kitchen.

From the gold geometric detailing along our walls to the marble counters of our display cases, the store itself is designed to reflect the warmth and elegance of that heritage.

Two Cousins, One Craft

Tripolis Sweets was brought to Cordova by cousins Mustapha Mustapha and Mounir Mourabi, both longtime Memphis restaurateurs. Mustapha also owns Sam's Main Street Eatery downtown, and Mounir owns La Roche Lebanese Cuisine in Cooper-Young.

The two set out to bring Memphis a wider range of authentic Lebanese sweets than the city had seen before — the varied, Tripoli-style pastry tradition they grew up with, alongside Arabic ice cream and other treats not otherwise found locally.
